Mr. Otis Eugene “Um Gene Craig” Glidewell

Mr. Otis Eugene “Um Gene Craig” Glidewell of Albany, Kentucky passed away at his residence in Albany, Kentucky, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, having attained the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 20 days. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Tuesday, April 30, 1946, the son of Margie (Craig) Horne and stepson of James Horne. He loved being outside, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barb Abbott and a brother, Ted Horne.

He is survived by his wife, Margretta (Marcum) Glidewell, whom he wed on Monday, March 23, 1987, his children, Brent (& Melanie) Glidewell of Winchester, Indiana, Kelly Romans of Holland, Michigan, April (& Josh Cowan, Marcus (& Jennifer) Glidewell all of Albany, Kentucky, Ashley (& Ronnie) Hummel of Allons, Tennessee, and Emily (& Tyler) Gray of Albany, Kentucky, special grandchildren, Taylor Glidewell, Marcus Wayne Glidewell, Jackson Cowan, Luke Cowan, Rylan Hummel, River Hummel, Ridge Hummel, Waylon Gray, Emma Gray, and Baby Gray, a brother, Jim (& Anita) Horne of Union City, Indiana, many other grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at Campbell-New Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST with Bro. Kenny Neal officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, beginning at 12:00 noon CST until the funeral hour. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Campbell-New Funeral Home in Albany is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
