Barren County was approved for a little more than $21,000 by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board “for agricultural diversification and rural development projects across the commonwealth.”
“Diversity is what keeps Kentucky agriculture strong and relevant for our producers,” said Commissioner of Agriculture and Kentucky Agricultural Development Board Chair Jonathan Shell. “The projects funded this month by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board will help sustain that diversity, fostering stronger communities and a more prosperous future.”
The board approved $2.1 million this month for diversification projects; Barren County received $21,069 for a “shared-use equipment program,” which is purchased by a community organization and then made available for producers “on a lease basis.”
