Robert W. Armstrong “Bob”, was born May 8, 1934 in Dyersburg, TN. He attended Purdue University, University of Tennessee and continued his electrical engineering training at Duncan Electric in Fayetteville, IN. In 1964 he moved his family to Bowling Green, KY and eventually created Electrical Sales Engineering (“ESE”). ESE manufactured, distributed and serviced electrical utility companies throughout the United States and abroad. His knowledge of electrical services was amazing and he won several awards. He never retired. He was also an active member of the Broadway Methodist Church.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Judy Jackson Armstrong; daughters, Mickie Cooper (Mike) of Franklin, TN, daughter Judy Sampson (Roy) of Woodburn, KY; daughter in law, Lindy Chandler of Memphis, TN, and stepson, Lane Jackson (Christy) of Brentwood, TN; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters and a favorite nephew, Dallas.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Armstrong, Sr., and Leatha Norene Curnell, his two sons, Butch Armstrong and Steve Chandler as well as his sister Geraldine.
The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements.
Funeral services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held Wednesday March 26, 2025 at 1:30pm with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery #2. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service at 1:30pm.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation be made to Broadway Methodist Church or the Foundry.
