Ms. Mildred Jane “Millie” Smith

Ms. Mildred Jane “Millie” Smith, age 90, of Cave City, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, with her family at her side.  Millie was born in Park City, Kentucky on June 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Charlie and Zelma (Martin) Brooks.  Millie was a waitress and a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a devout member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church. 

Millie is survived by one son, Greg Smith, of Cave City, four grandchildren: Bill Smith of Cave City, Chasity Shipley and husband Wes of Glasgow, Nicholas Smith of Cave City, Ka ‘Chelly Coates and husband David of Horse Cave. Seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Allie Smith, Preston, Paisley and Parker Coates, Scarlett and Roman Shipley, her siblings, Judy Haydon and husband Danny of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Mitchell Brooks of Florida, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Sherry Smith and Tommy Smith, two sisters, Frances Mitchell, and Virginia Denton, and two brothers, Tommy Brooks, and Charles Brooks. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, from Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.  Bro. Cary Brooks will officiate the service. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning after 9:00 until the service time of 1:00 p.m. 

Pallbearers: David Coates, Wes Shipley, Bill Smith, Preston Coates, Nicholas Smith, and Joe Hatcher

Honorary Pallbearers: Roman Shipley, Parker Coates, and Terry Elmore

Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ms. Smith and her family at this time.
