Nicole Rock was selected as the 2025 Small Business Person of the Year for her “unwavering dedication…empowering individuals and transforming lives.”

Family, friends and coworkers filed into the main room of the Craft Innovation Center as the teary eyed Rock accepted her award. She is the executive director at Golden Gate Bridges, which has a mission “to provide quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.”

Rock said she is honored to receive the award that, according to a Barren Inc. press release, “recognize[s] outstanding individuals who demonstrated excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship and community impact in Barren County,” and used her brief speech to expound upon the mission and goal of Golden Gate Bridges.

“This is such an honor,” Rock said. “Definitely not expected…to do this kind of work you definitely need support. Thank you, I really appreciate this.”

Terry Bunnell said Rock embodies everything the award stands for.

Rock and Cornti Crews, who recently received the 2025 Magnolia Award, will be the keynote speakers at the May 8 Achievement in Business luncheon where the other three awards — the small business of the year, the farmer of the year and the administrative professional of the year awards — will be presented.

The luncheon represents the beginning of the chamber’s small business appreciation month.
