Mr. Jerrold Christian “Shorty” Arabie, age 46, of Mount Hermon, Kentucky, and formerly of Louisiana passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in an automobile accident. Jerrold was born in Bridge City, Louisiana on May 24, 1978, a son of Lawrence Michael Arabie and the late Shirley Ann Buffington Arabie. Jerrold was an offshore engineer on supply boats, before moving to Kentucky a few years ago. He was an all-around outdoorsman, who loved to fish, hunt and cook. Jerrold and his wife attended the Red Hill Holiness Church.
He is survived by his father, Lawrence Michael Arabie, of Tick Fall, Louisiana, his wife of nearly seven years, Deanna L. Arabie, of Mount Hermon, one daughter, Kendra Arabie, of Kansas, two sisters; Stacie Ann Arabie, of Independence, Louisiana, and Crystal Lynn Barber of Morgan City, Louisiana, and one brother, Jeremiah Christopher Arabie, of Morgan City, Louisiana. Ten nieces and nephews, Felicia Arabie, Felicity Arabie, Kevin Bush, Jr. Chad Arabie, Savannah Arabie, Dakota Barber, Allen Barber, Jeremiah Arabie, Mya Arabie, and Leland Arabie also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Buffington.
Cremation was chosen by the family, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
