Paul E. Barger, age 79 of Cub Run, departed this life on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital. The Meade County native was born on February 11, 1946, to the late Chester and Mabel Cart Barger.
Paul served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He operated as an Amish taxi driver, a role that allowed him to connect with his community and share stories during rides. He had a passion for woodworking, skillfully producing beautiful pieces that reflected his creativity and craftsmanship. Most cherished of all were the moments he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with their Grandad.
He leaves to honor his memory— his daughters, Deidre Day (Terry) of Munfordville, Leanne Farmer of Elizabethtown, and Paulette Oakes of Somerset; grandchildren, Victoria Cummings, Kelsey Highbaugh (Daniel), Logan Day (Becca), Grace Farmer, Lydia Farmer, Stevie Redmon, Beth Farmer, Eli Farmer, Cameron Day, Aly Day and Clara Oakes; great-grandchildren, Presley Highbaugh, Piper Day, Everlyn Highbaugh and Jolee Day; sisters, Elaine Wilson and Bonnie Prochaska, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann McKibben.
