Former Glasgow golfer Nina McMurtrey finished in a tie for 59th at the Coach Mo Classic in St. Augustine, Fla., on Tuesday. She shot 77 in the final round of the tournament to finish at 18-over overall.
WKU’s Sydney Hackett finished in second place, tallying a 2-under 214 for the tournament to finish just one stroke off medalist honors. As a team, the Lady Tops finished tied for fourth, improving their standing by one spot over the final round.
Despite playing without senior Catie Craig, who was playing the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, WKU managed its sixth Top-4 finish as a team through nine events this season.
On Day 1, McMurtrey shot 78 and 79.
Purdue won the event with a team-total score of 877. WKU shot 898.
The Lady Tops close the regular season Monday at Tennessee’s Spring Challenge, a 36-hole event. WKU returns to St. Augustine April 14-16 for the Conference USA Championships.
