For roughly three hours the Glasgow Fire Department worked a fire at Ply-Tech Corporation at 845 Industrial Drive on April 2.
Glasgow Fire Department responded to reports of an explosion at the facility and saw “smoke and fire was coming from one of the saw dust collection units,” according to a fire department press release.
Crews climbed the catwalk and “attack[ed] the units that were on fire,” the press release states, and at the same time another crew cooled the vent system connected to the collection units.
“Factory personnel were able to kill the power to the collection units and [the fire department] was able to perform overhaul on each individual unit once the fire was extinguished,” the press release states. “A semi from Walbert Trucking assisted in moving the collection truck beds under the units to ensure no fire extension had made its way down inside.”
“After extensive overhaul all units cleared the scene,” the press release continues.
Glasgow Fire Department was assisted by Barren Metcalfe Ambulance Service, Emergency Management, GPD, and Walbert Trucking.
