Rebecca Jean Owens, 80, of Bowling Green passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born April 25, 1944 in Warren County to the late Clay and Dura Mae Agee Sears and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Owens and her daughter Kandie Mechele Woods and a brother, Noble Sears.
She was retired from Western Kentucky University where she worked in housekeeping. Jean was a devoted member of Plano Chapel Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday school. She and her late husband, Charles, were caretakers of the church. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Steve Woods (Nikki), Sidney Owens (Sandy), Carrie Smith (Dorian Lee) and Terry “Toad” Owens; grandchildren, Andy Woods (Amanda), Amanda Chapman (Nick), Jordan Constant (Sara) and Emma Constant (Gavin), Cody Owens (Katie), Jeff Coulter, Quenton Smith and Mackenzie Lewis (Stevon); great grandchildren, Kaden, Meleah, Madison, Makenzie, Silas, Lucas, Hudson, Pearl and Stevon, III; brothers, Norman Sears, Nathan Sears (Anthanette); sister, Hilda Suddeth; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 and again from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Plano Chapel Holiness Church.
