Ronny “Pappy” Lee Maners, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on September 6, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Ronny lived a full life characterized by his warmth and his ability to connect with others.
Ronny devoted many years of his career to R.R. Donnelley, from which he retired. In his retirement, he continued to serve the community by driving a school bus for Barren County Schools, where he shared his kindness and laughter with the children attending Red Cross Elementary School. His lasting impact on those he met in both his professional and personal life is a testament to the love he offered.
A person known for his outgoing personality, Ronny loved to talk to people and often expressed that a stranger was simply someone he had not yet met. His welcoming demeanor allowed him to forge connections and friendships with numerous individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Ronny pursued various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for riding his Harley, playing golf, and watching all the kids’ ballgames. A noted social media enthusiast, he also enjoyed spending time on Facebook. Ronny relished moments spent aggravating friends and family with his jokes and good-natured teasing. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he attended church at Lawrence Chapel.
Ronny is warmly remembered by his wife , Vickie Maners, and his children: Chris Maners (Toni Rae), Nick Maners, Charity Riddle Hamm, and Corey Clark (Dea). He was a proud grandfather to Caden Maners, Griffen Maners, Greenlee Maners, Kayelee Maners, Dillon Maners, Macie Maners, Jordan Simmons, Raegan Hamm, Taylor Clark, and Devlin Clark. Ronny also held a special place for Ryan and Hope Burris, Melissa Buser- Maners, and Chris and Laura Harper, whom he regarded as honorary children. He is survived by his brothers, Tony Maners (Patty) and Marvin Maners (Kim), his sister, Barbara Filicsky, and several nieces and nephews. His grand dogs, Cleo Hamm and Max Burris, were also considered cherished companions.
Ronny was preceded in death by his father, Earl Maners, his mother, Ruth Greenlee Maners, and his brother-in-law, Mark Filicsky.
The funeral service for Mr. Maners will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
Ronny “Pappy” Lee Maners leaves behind a legacy vibrant with love, laughter, and cherished memories, remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.
