Apr 13, 2025 | 5:34 PM
Beatrice “Bea” Ann Mooney, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. She was born on April 13, 1954, in Patterson, New Jersey, to the late John Walker and Gloria Walker.
Bea and Dave married September 17, 1977 and moved to rural Campbell Hall, New York where they lived for 10 years until moving further upstate to the tiny Hamlet of Treadwell for the next 30 years until retiring to Kentucky in 2019.
Bea was always very active in her community and church, Girl Scouts, 4H, FD Auxiliary and more. She directed the handbell choir and youth group in the 1st Presbyterian church in Delhi, New York, and loved to sing.
She was an accomplished crafts person always sewing and crocheting beautiful things for family and friends.
Bea was a loving beautiful soul, inside and out and had a sparkle in her eyes and smile even after the cancer got a hold on her.
She will be dearly, dearly missed by everyone she touched.
Beatrice was known for her warm spirit and the joy she found in spending time with her family and friends. Her 47 years of marriage to her devoted husband, David Mooney, was a testament to their deep love and commitment. Beatrice leaves behind three children who brought her immense pride and happiness: Christopher Mooney (Vivian), Erin Olsen (Rob), and Sean David Mooney (Amber).
As a grandmother, Beatrice cherished each moment with her grandchildren, including Analise, Robby, Jake, Killian, Declan, Eva, Kees, Wesley, and Wyatt. They will forever hold dear the memories shared with her, from playful laughter to warm, nurturing guidance that only a grandmother can provide.
In addition to her immediate family, Beatrice is survived by her brothers, John Walker Jr., Thomas Walker, and Robert Walker. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her brother, Victor Walker, who, along with her parents, will be lovingly remembered as she takes her place among them.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know her. Beatrice Ann Mooney will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Beatrice’s family has granted her wishes with cremation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
