Robert Edward Brady,

Robert Edward Brady, 91, joined his wife in Heaven on Friday, April 11, 2025, surrounded by his family at Greenwood Nursing & Rehab in Bowling Green, KY.  He was born in Franklin, KY on March 14, 1934, to Ernest Hambrick Brady and Lizzie Mae Hayes Brady.  At the age of 19, he received eternal salvation and became a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.  On April 1, 1961, Robert married Clara Bell Duckett at Shiloh Church where he attended for the remainder of his life.  Robert and Clara welcomed their first daughter, Marsha Lynn in 1962; their son, Mark Edward in 1964 and their youngest daughter, Melissa Carol in 1971 completing their family.

Robert was a gifted artisan and skilled mechanic.  He was employed by Massey Motor Company as a young man and retired from Kendall Company in 1996.  He used his automotive talents in countless ways, working on vehicles, tractors, farm equipment and anything with an engine as long as his body would let him .  One of the proudest accomplishments was restoring an antique Farmall tractor with his brothers later in life.  He was a charter member of the Trammel Fire Department and a volunteer with the Simpson County Fire and Rescue for many years.  He loved to create things with his loving hands from leather work, wood work, quilts, knitted caps and scarves.  He and Clara farmed and raised a garden throughout their lives together, canning and storing what they grew and sharing their bounty with others.

He is survived by 1 son: Mark Brady and wife, Sheryl, Scottsville, KY;

2 daughters: Marsha Huddleston and husband, Danny, Madisonville, KY and Melissa Turner and husband, Ron, Scottsville, KY;

1 sister: Linda Brady Huff and husband, Neal, Franklin, KY;

3 sisters-in-law: Linda Brady, Jaynee Brady and Louise Brady;

11 grandchildren: Brandon Brady (Stephanie), Hannah Conrad, Tristan Brady (Ashley), Brentin DeArmond (Sara), Morgan Waid (J), Heath Huddleston (Alyssa), Kevin Huddleston (Amanda), Jeremy Huddleston (Mary), Ashlee Strong (Josh), Alli Turner and Avery Emmert (Matt);

19 great grandchildren and

Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  James Brady, Carl Brady and Larry “Jug” Brady; 1 sister:  Dorothy “Dot” Brady Gregory; 2 brothers-in-law:  John James Duckett and Homer Gregory; a sister-in-law:  Roberta Rifenberg Duckett.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 14, 2025, at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Turner, Bro. Tim Brown officiating and burial in Shiloh Cemetery with Bro. Michael Landers officiating.  Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparus.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
