Shirley Jean Comer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on April 10, 2025 at the age of 70 after an honorable battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on December 20, 1954 in Bowling Green to the late David L. (Nubby) Miller and the late Clara Mae Miller. As the third oldest of ten children, Shirley developed an innate ability to love and care for those she held dear from a very early age.

Together, they brought four children into the world; Julie Comer, Joey Comer Jr. (predeceased at 49 days old), Jason Comer (Angela), and Jennifer Basil (Justin). Shirley spent her life working to provide for her family but found the most rewarding experience in retirement, caring for her grandchildren. She was known for her unwavering support of her children, her infectious laugh, and her unconditional love for her family. Those closest to her would tell you she had a colorful personality and made everyone around her feel loved and appreciated.

She joins her beloved infant son, Joey Comer Jr., in death and leaves behind her loyal husband, three loving children, eight grandchildren; Joey Livingston, Michelle Livingston, Kaitlyn Johnson (Cole), Nathan Comer, Carter Comer, Hadley Basil, Harper Basil and Barrett Basil, a new addition of a great grandchild that is due in November (that she made sure to shower with love before departing this world) and her dearly loved siblings; Mamie House (Steve), Carolyn Grider (the late Joe Grider), the late Dennis Miller, Evelyn Miller, the late Carl Miller (Tina Miller), David Miller (Lori), James Miller (Brenda), JoAnn Ramsey (the late Timmy Ramsey) and Sherry Miller, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
