4-4-2013 – Veteran Barren County Teacher Cheyanne Fant will become the new District 21st Century Afterschool Coordinator for Barren County Schools.

 

The body of a woman has been found in a Barren County cornfield located off of Brock Lane in Southwest Barren County.

 

23 members of the GHS Art Club traveled to Chicago March 8-10 to visit several attractions.


Guy Penrod will perform at the Plaza Theatre Friday, April 19th.

4-11-2013 – The identity of the woman found last week in a cornfield is Cassandra Hernandez of Bonnieville. Investigation continues.

4-18-2013 – Locals to be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame are Billy Vaughn and the Kentucky Headhunters in Lexington on Friday.

Glasgow Lady Scotties win 6th Consecutive All “A” Title.

 

4-25-2013 – 6th Annual Butterflies for Maddie 5K run and Walk and Kid’s Run was held Saturday morning.

 

Scholarships presented by the Barren County Educational Foundation went to Amber Jewell, Mark Evan Piper, Kaitlyn Wyatt, Jay Todd Richey, Kelsey Sturgeon, Ashley Steenbergen and Gina Newberry.

 

11 tornado safe rooms are now open in Barren County. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department to showcase the room.

 

Kiwanis Club hosts the annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 27th at Barren County Middle School.

 

The Church of Latter Day Saints continue their annual tradition of cleaning up a rural cemetery. The project initiated by Dallas Arostegy was at the Parrish cemetery in the village of Goodnight.
