3-7-2013 – Cobb-Ventress Inc. will not build a facility in Glasgow as had been anticipated by the local economic development officials.

 

Valentine Royalty at Barren County Health Care Center is Malcolm Lowe as King and Elizabeth Wells as Queen.

 

4th Region update – Trojans fall in the 2nd round of Regional and Lady Scotties lose to Bowling Green in quarterfinal.

Barren County FFA Alumni Offices are Jamie Wood, President, William Myatt, Sec-Treas., Tim Williams, President-Elect, James Bailey, Reporter and Chris Schalk, Advisor.

 

Penguin’s Plunge benefiting Junior Achievement was held Saturday. Wes Mouser was named Emperor Penguin in individual rating, Lloyd Bean, Jr. was awarded the Grand Penguin Award for being the oldest participant.

 

3-14-2013 – Glasgow’s Bill Goodman to be honored by the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame.

 

BCHS Dance Team recently competed in the Nexstar Dance Competition and received 3 First Place trophies, one gold and two High Gold Trophies.

 

Taryn Kerly was elected Kentucky State Beta Club President at the recent Beta Club Convention.

 

Josh Pierce joins Caldwell Banker Real Estate Group.

 

3-21-2013 – One year after her death, Lois Howard Gray is inducted into the prestigious Kentucky Women Remembered exhibit housed in the Kentucky Capital in Frankfort.

  

35 Tourism directors from across the state recently spent three days in South Central Kentucky and toured many local attractions.

 

Special Olympics Week is declared in Barren County March 18-23.

3-28-2013 – Glasgow City Council passes resolution endorsing the use of the  City’s bonding capacity to issue bonds to support building a 2nd facility for WKU-Glasgow.

 

Reel Generation Film Festival to be held at Glasgow’s Plaza Theatre April 27.

 

Scrapbook Village is under new ownership. Valerie England is the new owner and Janett Corry is the store manager.

 

Catherine Davidson will celebrate her 102nd birthday Friday, April 5.

 

GHS Junior, Shalika Smith, was invited to try out for the famed Kentucky Junior All Star team over the weekend at Georgetown College.

 

Kelly Lynch is selected for the Gatton Academy Class of 2015.
