John Raymond Samples, age 48 of Brownsville, passed away on October 11, 2023 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by his loved ones. The Edmonson County native was born on June 4, 1975 to the late Allen Lee Samples, Sr, and Francis Carwile Samples, who survives.
John was an outdoorsman, and worked in landscaping. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith, and had attended Brownsville General Baptist Church.
Besides his mother, Francis, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Leah Lee (Caleb) and Christopher J. Case (Christina); his girlfriend, Tina Summers; his siblings, Patty Bell (Jimmy), Dorothy Toliver (Billy), Janet Wright (Donnie), Allen Samples, Jr., and Lois Samples; nieces and nephews, Crystal Higgins (Larry, Jr.), Stephanie Samples (Jerry), Rodger Cook, Jr. (Tiffany) and Charlie Samples (Courtney); great nieces and nephews, Alivia Higgins, Kaile Lynn Collins, Ariel Cook, Trenton Stewart and Jaxon Cook; his beloved pet, Whitey Meredith Samples, along with several other extended family members. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Gabrielle Samples; his brother, Eugene Samples; grandfather, Raymond Carwile and great-nephew, Gabrielle Cook.
Interment will be in Fairview Church Cemetery.
