8-1-2013 – Governor Steve Breshear comes to Glasgow to praise the new State Nursing Facility on the campus of the former TB Hospital on State Avenue.
WKU Regents gather at the Glasgow Campus to honor Betty Ross Bailey and her late husband, David W Bailey for their extraordinary contribution to the campus.
Cave City Business of the Week is Pier 19, open since 1982 at 506 E. Happy Valley Street.
100 Little Leaguers represent Glasgow at the Little League State Tournament. They won the first game but lost in the 2nd round.
8-8-2013 – Kent Keen was sworn in Monday as Barren County Sheriff. He is a 20 year veteran law enforcement officer.
Barren County Homemaker members gathered August 1 to celebrate 75 years of their organization. 14 clubs now operate. 52 clubs have made up the rich history.
Joy Medley Lyons, Mammoth Cave National park ranger, retires on July 27 finishing a 33 year career.
Madison Harrison, a sixth grader at Red Cross Competed in the National Barrel Horse Association Youth World Championship in Perry, Ga.
US Bank Balloons, Tunes and BBQ is scheduled for Saturday night.
8-15-2013 – Horse Cave Repertory Theatre doors are chained following a writ of execution from the Horse Cave Circuit Court. Sale of the theatre will be handled by Master Commission George Lang.
Opening day of Barren County schools brings over 4, 700 students for enrollment.

8-29-2013 – Allen Lodge #24 , a Glasgow Cornerstone, celebrates 200 years. Lewis Button, 99 years old, was honored during the celebration last week.

Caverna School Board votes 3-2 to take 4% increase in tax revenue.
T J Samson Bowl – Glasgow over Hart County Raiders 48-0 and BC Trojans hang on for a 19-13 victory over Metcalfe County.
