9-2-2003 – Barren County students were injured in a bus accident on Mammoth Cave Road in Park City. Only minor injuries were reported.

9-3-2003 – Barren County Fiscal Court voted 5-2 to keep library tax rate the same.

9-4-2003 – Dr. Bharat Mody will again this year apply henna at Global Fest September 6.

9-5-2003 – DANA named Industry of the Year by the Glasgow / Barren County Chamber of Commerce.

Kateland Beals is selected Queen of the T J Samson Bowl.

9-7-2003 – Ribbon cutting is held for the new Atmos Energy’s newly remodeled office on Broadway.

Anniversaries – 45th for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stephens, 40th for Roex and Martha Barrick and J B and Emily Logsdon and the 35th for Terry and Pam Flatt.

9-9-2003 – City of Glasgow keeps 2003 tax rate the same as last year – 0.140 cents per $100 assessed value for real estate.

9-10-2003 – Jim Hyatt retires as director of Mary Wood Weldon Library after 30 years.

9-11-2003 – Kenneth Bale, one of Kentucky’s leading tobacco figures, died this past Tuesday.

9-14-2003 – The Mitchell Family performed at Bell’s Tavern Heritage Festival in Park City Saturday.

9-15-2003 – Scottie Band won their first competition this year at Franklin Simpson on September 6th.

9-18-2003 – 2003 Kentucky State Fair Amateur Team Pinning Champions are Phillip Veluzat, Mary Jo Veluzat and Greg Gassaway.

Ashley Jessie and Morgan Welsh represent Metcalfe County High School by winning awards at the 2003 Kentucky Junior Historical Society Convention.

9-26-2003 – Mica Wood is elected Sophomore Class President at Georgetown College.

9-28-2003 – Temple Hill students present “Hansel and Gretal”. Eric Skipworth is Hansel and Stephanie Mattingley is Gretal.
