Louis Lee “Butch” Clemons, 77, Leitchfield, KY. peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin, in Elizabethtown KY. surrounded by his devoted wife Phyllis and daughter Leanne.
Born May 7, 1946 to Joseph Leo and Gladys Scott Clemons in Louisville, KY. He was the only son and is survived by his 4 sisters Margaret (Elvis) Haycraft, Linda (Arthur) Pierce, Lucille (Jimmy) Carroll and Catherine (Leroy) Haycraft.
Butch married Phyllis Clemons on December 8, 1986. He was the father of Kenny (Tammie) Clemons, Christina (Justin Golden) Clemons, and Leanne Clemons. He was a proud grandfather to Sarah (Cody) White, Aleah and Joey Clemons. He adored his great grandchildren Lydia and Aubrey White. Butch was a loving husband, father, Papaw, Uncle and friend to many that delighted in his magnetic personality.
Butch attended elementary and high school in Peonia KY and college at University of Louisville, Triton College in Illinois. He was a skilled machinist by trade and retired from Novelis in Louisville after 40 years of dedicated hard work.
Butch was passionate about the outdoors; fishing, camping with his family and preserving the land his parents farmed on when he was young. Butch was a talented vintage car restorer, an avid bowler, pool and card player, a collector, a lover of Western movies and music. He lived life to the fullest and he was grateful for the memories he made with his family and friends. He will be missed tremendously.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Peonia, KY
Visitation will be held at Dermitt Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday December 6th from 9:00 am until time of services
