2-6-2014 – BCHS Cheerleaders head to National Competition.

Joan Edwards is Glasgow/Barren County Chamber Professional of the year. Joe Mike Moore family is the Farmer of the year and Krissie Coe Fields is Ambassador of the Year.

2-13-2014 – BCHS Cheerleaders captured 2nd place in Nation in Orlando, Florida for UCA Co-Ed Cheer Competition.

Gary Tilghman greeted hundreds of well wishers during his retirement reception at the Barren County Cooperative Extension Office. He retired after 35 years of service.

BCHS Homecoming Royalty – Rachel Fields, is the Queen. She was escorted by Evan Kinslow.

Ryan Hinkley signs with Olney Central College to play baseball.

The 2nd annual Daddy/Daughter Dance is held at BC Trojan Academy.

2-20-2014 – Hiseville Elementary and BCMS share $990,000 grant for afterschool programs.

Ribbon cutting held for Your Morning Shot, Glasgow’s newest coffee shop on W. Main Street.

Wedding Anniversaries – 60th – Paul and Frances Bastin, Jack and Katherine London, and 50th for Freddie and Loretta Norris and Bobby and Lydia Stice Cary.

AD – The Vance Store Spring Open House – February 28 and March 1. Beans and Cornbread will be served. Glasgow, Bowling Green and Madisonville stores.

2-27-2014 – Highland Jr. Beta Club captures the state championship under the director of Amanda Taylor, Amy Brown and Todd Woodward.

The Fine Arts Capstone Ceremony kicks off at BCHS under WKU President Gary Ransdell. It is an expansion of the Advanced Placement program whereby students can gain dual credits.

Hadliegh Hammer is elected Kentucky Junior Beta President. She is an 8th grader at BCMS.

Rotary Club meets WKU’s new Football Coach, Jeff Brohm.

Barren County Health Care 2014 Valentine King and Queen are Mr. Harry Lyons and Ms. Nina Price.

2nd Annual Willie Fest concert will be this weekend at the Plaza Theatre.
