David Elden Pirtle

David Elden Pirtle, 86, of Bowling Green passed away June 8, 2024 at Quality Center Rehab and Health Healing in Lebanon, Tennessee.

The Bowling Green native was born March 21, 1938 to the late Henry Madison and Willie B. Green Pirtle. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Diane Harmon Pirtle; brother-in-law, Damon Green; and nephew, Danny Green. The U.S. Army veteran received medical retirement as part of his military service. David enjoyed the simple parts of life such as mowing his yard or gardening. He enjoyed taking photos, especially of his family.

Survivors include his children, Glen Pirtle (Dawn) of Clermont, Florida, Sharon Link (Bruce) of Portland, Tennessee, and Amy Rucker (Quinton) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Natasha Warren, Sean Pirtle, Heather Gregory, Christopher Gregory, Brianna Link, Sarah Rucker, and Allison Rucker; sister, Barbara Green of Scottsville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and special friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with graveside service to follow with military honors at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
