Carolyn Houchin Fielder, age 69, died on November 3, 2024, at her home in Seneca, SC with family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Carol was born Franklin, Indiana on August 14, 1955 to parents Lloyd and Audrey (Butler) Houchin. She graduated from Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, KY in 1973. Carol primarily spent her career in Quality Control in the automotive industry.
She met her husband, Erby Fielder, while they were both employed at Holley Automotive. The two were married on July 21, 1984 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bowling Green. They spent the next 40 years taking exceptional care of one another.
Carol enjoyed jewelry making, Barbie collecting, music, and movies. She was an avid Disney fan spending many years visiting Walt Disney World making and enjoying memories with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She will be remembered for her smile, always happy and joyful when spending time with others. Everyone was “the star of the show” in her life, making each person feel as such. She most enjoyed taking care of her family who never left her thoughts.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Erby, and her sons Matthew and Nathan Fielder (Dianna); daughter Elisabeth Hix (Shayne); grandsons Tyler Davis, Kolton Hix (Mikaela), Jake Hix, Erik Hix, and Corbin Fielder; great-grandson Adrian Davis; siblings Rick Houchin, Tammie Smallwood (Doug), and Beverly Carr; and nephews Jeremy Houchin, John Haswell (Lauren), and Jacob Carr.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Chapel – Lovers Lane Chapel, 820 Lovers Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42103. Visitation will take place Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5-8pm; and 9-11am before the funeral service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carol’s life. Burial will be in the Bowling Green Gardens.
