Anthony ‘Tony’ Lovan

Tony was born April 23, 1966 at Wheelus Air Base in Libya North Africa to a military family stationed in southern Italy.

He graduated from Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida and shortly there after enlisted in the U. S. Army achieving the rank of sergeant before taking an honorable discharge.

Later he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard where he met and married the mother of his son Anthony J. Lovan (A.J.). A.J. is also an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran who served as a combat medic in Afghanistan.

Tony worked for several years for the railroad as a crew scheduler and the the health resource and benefits area.

He lived many years in Topeka, Kansas which he called home until he moved to Pensacola shortly before he lost his lengthy battles with cancer on November 13, 2024mat the age of 58.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Smith Lovan.

He is survived by his father Dr. Wendell Lovan. His son Anthony J. Lovan and his wife Kelsey. His three grandchildren, Nova, Niles, and Nessa Lovan.

A Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
