Harold was a devoted servant to his country and community. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and then 25 years of service with the Bowling Green Fire Department. After his years of service with the Fire Department, he retired as Assistant Chief. In retirement he enjoyed golfing, target shooting, and spending time with his family.

Harold is survived by his loving wife Joan Neighbors of 55 years; his sons, Richard Neighbors and Scott Neighbors and his wife, Robbie Neighbors. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Rachel Long and her husband Graeme Long, Payton Neighbors, Ryan Neighbors and Tyler Neighbors.
