Shirley Lou Fields Overfelt, age 80, of Canmer, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024. The Uno, Kentucky native was born on March 27, 1944, to the late Harlan Fields, and Maggie Perkins Fields. She was married to her loving husband, Buddy Overfelt for 60 years. She was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Shirley loved her years working at Mallorys and later babysitting. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved painting around the house but most of all she loved her Buddy Gene and Buddy Shane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lloyd Fields, and Louise Fields Mckinney.
She is survived by her husband, Buddy Overfelt; one son, Shane Overfelt (Missy); nephews, Bobby Mckinney (Evelyn), Benny McKinney; one niece, Tonya Dishman Atwell (Richard).
The Funeral Service for Shirley will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial in the Dishman Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, and after 9:00AM Tuesday until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, per Shirley’s love for children, the family requests donations be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
