Betty Pannell

Betty Pannell, age 85, of Horse Cave, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. She was a Hart County native, and was a member of the Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church. She ran Betty’s Tanning Salon for over 20 years. Betty had a love for cooking and crafting, and was famous for her chocolate pie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Stella Polly Rucker; one sister, Wilma Logsdon; one brother, Leonard Rucker.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bobby Pannell; three children, Johnny Pannell (Vickie), Sammy Pannell (Diana), Paula Daugherty (Kelly); seven grandchildren, Jonathon Pannell (Tammy), Natalie Bishop (Zach), Brandi Morrison (Daniel), Courtney Carby (Dayton), Jennifer Haughtaling (Matt), Samantha Pannell, Jeremy Pannell (Alicia); ten great-grandchildren, Allie Poynter, Audrey Poynter, John Connor Pannell, Harrison Pannell, Landon Haughtaling, Olivia Haughtaling, Emersyn Carby, Jace Carby, Cooper Bishop, and Esmae Pannell; two sisters, Mary Logsdon (Darryl), Jenny Bryant (Buck); one brother, Jimmy Rucker (Betty).

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, and after 9:00AM Wednesday until the time of the service.
