Sharon Sue Belcher Hesson

Sharon Sue Belcher Hesson, age 78, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Sharon was born in Bowling Green on December 9, 1945 to the late James “Jimmy” Belcher and Constance Jane Montgomery Belcher. Sharon was a graduate from Western Kentucky University and Nashville General School of Health Science. She was a nurse for over 50 years, 41 of those years she worked at the Bowling Green Medical Center; and she also worked at many local nursing homes. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed reading, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known for her love and care that she showed to everyone she met.

Along with her parents, Sharon was also proceeded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Roger Wayne Hesson; her two daughters, Susan Marie Hesson, and Kari Lynn Vasquez; a sister, Lynda Gayle James; and a brother, William Harrison Belcher.

Sharon is survived by her three grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn LeGrand, Jessica Nicole (James) Abney, and Brittany Michelle Furlong; and six great-grandchildren: Camron Lee Bowman, Christopher Wyatt Bowman, Ember Leigh Russell, Gabriel Alexzander Abney, Kyra Grace Nash, and James Kayden Abney; a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family whom she loved very dearly.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:00pm at the J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel on Broadway. Visitation will begin prior too at 9:00am until the time of service.
