Demas Colis Jones

Mr. Demas Colis Jones, age 93, of Lafayette, Tennessee, and formerly of Monroe County, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his home. Demas was born in Monroe County on March 20, 1931, a son of the late Raymond and Virgie (Richie) Jones. Demas attended the Boyd School growing up and proudly served his Country as a Korean War Veteran, driving a supply truck all over Korea. In his later years, Demas was known for his dealings in Antiques. 

He is survived by three sons: Michael Jones, Rickey Jones, and wife Tammye, and Jim Jones and wife Christy, all of Lafayette, Tennessee. Five brothers: Clifton Jones, Cecil Jones, Royce Jones, Ralph Jones, and Danny Jones, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, also survive.

In addition to his parents; Demas was preceded in death by his wife, Inez (Strode) Jones, two daughters; Linda Glass, and Beverly Anderson,  two brothers, Iner Jones, and Veachel Jones; and three sisters, Joyce Jones, Mavis Jones, and Avis Hood. 

Funeral Services for Demas will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with a private family burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. 

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethlehem Cemetery in memory of Demas may be made at the Funeral Home.
