By Mark Buckles Dec 23, 2024 | 1:47 PM

Angelia Faye “Angie” Johnson, a beloved soul known for her warmth and joy, departed this life on December 21, 2024, at the age of 57. The Indianapolis, IN native was born on September 11, 1967 to Sherry Higginbotham Johnson and the late Morris “Jim” Johnson. Angie brought light into the lives of all who knew her.

From a young age, Angie demonstrated a unique and remarkable spirit. She attended Kyrock Elementary and Edmonson County Middle School, where she touched the hearts of her classmates and teachers alike. Born with special needs, Angie was truly a special angel, embodying a purity and kindness that resonated deeply. Her playful nature shone brightly through her favorite pastimes. She found joy in playing with her blocks, constructing vibrant worlds filled with creativity and imagination. One of her cherished companions was her beloved grinch named Waggie, who never failed to bring a smile to her face. These simple joys were a testament to her ability to find happiness in everyday moments, a lesson she unknowingly shared with those around her.

Besides her mother, Sherry, she leaves to honor her memory— her siblings, Greg Houchin of Brownsville, Janis Alvey (Gene) of Chalybeate and Jeanetta Girard (Harry) of Mohawk; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Johnson (Stephen Jackson), Anthony Houchin (Chasity), Joshua Girard and Jacob Girard (Nicole); six great nieces and nephews, along with several cousins and extended family members.
