On Sunday, Dec. 29, at 7:27 P.M., Kentucky State Police Post 03 Bowling Green was notified about a two-vehicle fatal collision in Franklin.
Troopers arrived on the scene on Nashville Road in front of the Flying J Travel Center.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by Eric Green, 33, of Bowling Green, was traveling north on US 31W. A 2020 Kenworth Commercial vehicle, operated by Nugusse Yonathan, 29, of Burien, Washington, was exiting the Flying J Travel Center onto US 31W entering the path of Mr. Green.
Mr. Green was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Simpson County Coroner.
The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Grant Roberson. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Franklin Police Department, Simpson County Fire Department, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County EMS, Simpson County Coroner’s Office, and other KSP personnel.
