The Barren County Building and Property committee voted to approve J and K Construction’s bid for $6,550 to remove a wall and add a few doors on the second floor of the Barren County Government Center.

This work was discussed during a previous committee meeting where it was said that the second floor would be used by the commonwealth’s attorney and his staff.

Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said they had received verbal approval from Frankfort but no official contract yet.

The rent for the second floor would be approximately $4,000 a month.

This story will be update with further information at a later time.
