By Mark Buckles Jul 11, 2020 | 7:03 AM

Paris, Ky. (July 10, 2020) The Kentucky State Police, Post 6 in Dry Ridge, received a call last night around 9:50 p.m. regarding a two-vehicle collision that occurred near the Bourbon-Nicholas County line on Hooktown Road.

Preliminary investigation reveals 47-year-old Mable Leonard, of Cynthiana, was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Cruise westbound on Hooktown Road. 31-year-old Jonathan Mattox, of Carlisle, was traveling east on Hooktown Road in a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle. Both operators approached a curve and for unknown reasons, Mattox traveled out of his lane and into the path of Leonard, resulting in a head-on collision.

Jonathan Mattox was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bourbon County Coroner. Motorcycle passenger, 23-year-old Elizabeth Boggs, of Lexington, was flown to UK hospital for severe injuries. Mable Leonard sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Reconstructionist Trooper Joseph Kenny. He was assisted on scene by additional KSP personnel, The Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office, Bourbon County EMS, Bourbon County Fire Department, and the Bourbon County Coroner.
