Terry Lynn (Hagan) Carter, 61,Tompkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, August
4th, surrounded by her family at UK Healthcare in Lexington, KY.
Terry Lynn was born in Tompkinsville, KY on November 6, 1958, a daughter of
the late Melba (Short) and Gene Rowland Hagan.
On August 7, 1976, she married William Michael Carter at her parents home
in Tompkinsville, KY.
She worked as a nurse for 42 years before retiring in January 2020. During
her career she worked as Director of Nursing, Home Heath Nurse and a
Emergency Room Nurse for the Monroe County Medical Center. She was a
Republican Board Member of the Monroe County Board of Elections for 8
years.
Terry Lynn is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael Carter, of
Tompkinsville, KY; three daughters, Dr. Allison Rains, and husband, Dr.
Martin, of Paducah, KY; Caroline Carter, of Tompkinsville, KY; and Cassidy
Carter, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son, John Michael Carter, and wife, Aryn
of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Carter Gregory Rains, Madeline
Charlotte Rains, Brooks Michael Rains, Elizabeth “Ellee” Greer Carter, and
Jack Hagan Carter.
Terry is also survived by two brothers, Steve Hagan, and wife, Jane, and
John Hagan, and wife, Dr. Crystal both of Tompkinsville, KY.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 7th, at Tompkinsville First
Baptist, at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private.
Visitation is Thursday,4:30-8:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home and
Friday after 9:00 AM until funeral service time at 2:00 PM at Tompkinsville
First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Cincinnati Children’s
Hospital in honor of Jack Hagan Carter or to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s
Hospital at Vanderbilt.
In compliance with the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association and Governor
Beshear it is asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. No
public lounge is available at this time.
