Barren County grand jury returns indictments

GLASGOW, Ky. — In a recent session of the Barren County Grand Jury a number of indictments were returned. Remember an indictment is simply an accusation and is not an indication of innocence or guilt in a given case until it is proven in a court of law.

20 year old Emily Tarry of Burkesville Road was indicted on charges of burglary 1st degree; theft by unlawful taking involving a firearm and Persistent felony offender second degree. This is in regard to an incident in August of last year. 26 year old Colton Keller of Tompkinsville was indicted on the same charges in relation to the same incident. Additionally, Keller was indicted on a charge of 2nd degree persistent felony offender based on earlier convictions in Metcalfe, Barren and Cumberland Counties.

31 year old Loni Reni Marcum of Middleton Ohio was indicted on theft by deception and 2nd degree forgery charges from an incident in September of last year.

55 year old Kenneth W. Higgins of South Green Street was indicted on a charge of Failure to comply with Sex Offender Registration, first offense.

36 year old Randall James Hastedt of Jay Max Way was indicted on a charge of Failure to comply with Sex Offender Registration, first offense.

23 year old Thomas A. Spurlock of South Morgan Street was indicted on charges of being in possession of synthetic drugs, 2nd offense in an incident from February of last year.

35 year old Michael Scott Patton was indicted on possession of a controlled substance, first offense (Meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Horse Cave man, 37 year old Stephen H. Flaherty was indicted on possession of meth, 3rd or more offense, Operating on a suspended operator’s license, failure to maintain required insurance on expired license plates. This was involving an incident from June of last year.

29 year old Samantha S. Jaggers was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, $10,000 or more but under $1,000,000. This is from an incident in May of last year, when she unlawfully took or exercised control of a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado belonging to Enterprise Rental, with the intent to deprive the business thereof. 

40 year old Carrie Ingram was indicted on 1st degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and 2nd degree persistent felony offender. This was involving an incident from June of last year. 

39 year old Jonathan T. Bailey was indicted on 3rd degree assault (police/probation officer), resisting arrest, 2nd degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication. This was involving an incident from April of this year when he recklessly, with a dangerous weapon or deadly instrument, caused or attempted to cause physical injury to a city peace officer. 

30 year old Taylor T. Eubanks was indicted on four counts of 1st degree wanton endangerment, 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, first offense. This was involving an incident from July of last year. 

39 year old Chadrick Bulle and 20 year old Katelynn Coleman were indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense, and possession of marijuana. This was involving an incident from July of last year. 

64 year old Janet F. Dobson was indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), third or more offense, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, second offense, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to or improper signal. This was involving an incident from July of last year. 

33 year old Joseph L. Jewell was indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), second offense, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. This was involving an incident from August of last year. 

61 year old David A. Payne was indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone), first offense, 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance (Neurontin), and tampering with physical evidence. This was involving an incident from January of this year. 

44 year old Matthew Wayne Brock was indicted on three counts of 1st degree sodomy. This was involving incidents from December of 2017 and July of 209 when he engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with two separate people by forcible compulsion. 

32 year old Joshua Lee Ramsey was indicted on receiving stolen property valued at $500 or more but less than $10,000, fleeing/evading police, 1st degree wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seatbelt, no/expired registration plates, and 1st degree persistent felony offender. This was involving an incident from March of this year when he received, retained or disposed of a 1995 Dodge Ram, knowing that it had been stolen or having reason to believe it had been stolen.

29 year old Jason Abston was indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense, and buy/possession of drug paraphernalia. This was involving an incident in March of this year. 

27 year old Brooke Pierce was indicted on 1st degree assault and 1st degree persistent felony offender. This was from an incident from April of this year when she intentionally caused serious physical injury to a woman by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument. 

34 year old Savanna L. Acosta and 43 year old Virginia Lynn Rodriguez were both indicted on three counts of 1st degree trafficking in a controlled substance (2 grams or more of methamphetamine), first offense,  2nd degree hindering prosecution/apprehension and buy/possession of drug paraphernalia. This was involving an incident from April of this year. 

29 year old Jason Abston was indicted on 3rd degree assault (police/probation officer), resisting arrest, and 2nd degree disorderly conduct. This was involving an incident from April of this year when Abston recklessly, with a dangerous weapon or deadly instrument, intentionally caused or attempted to cause physical injury to a city police officer. 

48 year old Marvin K. Harris was indicted on possession of synthetic drugs, second or subsequent offense, and buy/possession of drug paraphernalia. This was involving an incident from April of this year. 

22 year old Kelsey C. Brown was indicted on 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), second offense, 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), second offense, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. This was involving an incident from April of this year. 

47 year old Ronald C. Batey was indicted on 2nd degree assault. This was involving an incident from September of last year when he caused serious physical injury to a woman.
