Four days, two shootings and as of now four arrests.

A dispute between a woman, her current boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend resulted in gunfire this past Sunday which left 22 year old Anthony Wood of Glasgow with a gunshot wound to the chest. 27 year old Mary Ash and Anthony Wood, who is her current boyfriend, told police they were being followed by Ash’s ex-boyfriend 26 year old Terrell Johnson. Johnson told Ash over the phone, according to reports, that he wanted to fight Wood. After stopping the vehicle, Anthony Wood got out and began to walk toward Johnson’s car when he was shot in the chest. Witnesses said Johnson was the shooter. Johnson was arrested on charges of ATTEMPTED MURDER, POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN BY A CONVICTED FELON, ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE and WANTON ENDANGERMENT.

Wednesday afternoon 911 Dispatch received several calls reporting two vehicles traveling down Columbia Avenue shooting at each other. GPD Units immediately responded, but the drivers had already fled the area. Shell casings were recovered from the side of the roadway and no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

GPD did identify three suspects during the course of the investigation into the Columbia Avenue shooting. As of this morning, three arrest warrants have been secured and two arrests have been made. Arrested late Thursday night was 23 year old Jaleel Wood of Glasgow. Jaleel Wood was charged with WANTON ENDANGERMENT and ATTEMPTED MURDER. Mary Ash was arrested early this morning and charged with one count of ATTEMPTED MURDER. A third arrest warrant has been issued for Anthony Wood.

With two of the same people involved in both shootings, it would seem the two likely are related, at least to some extent. Glasgow Police Captain Tony Morgan told WCLU News that while they can’t confirm that Wednesday’s shooting on Columbia Avenue was connected to the shooting Sunday, he did say they are investigating that possibility.
