Murder for hire plot lands an Edmonton man in jail.
49 year old Kevin Scott Gentry was arrested Monday evening in Glasgow. According to reports, KSP Post 15 had contacted DESI, the state police Drug Enforcement and Special Investigations Unit, about a murder for hire investigation. Around 2:45pm Monday afternoon, DESI detectives met with Nashville Metro Detectives, along with a confidential informant in Bowling Green. A phone call, which was recorded, was made to Gentry where during the conversation he said he wanted to have James M. Darnell killed. The confidential informant, posing as the man Gentry would hire for the murder, agreed to meet Gentry at the K-Mart parking lot in Glasgow. Once at K-Mart, Gentry provided a picture of Darnell, along with his address, to the confidential informant, as well as $2500 payment for the murder. According to the citation, Gentry promised an additional $2500 would be paid after the murder.
Gentry was arrested and has been charged with one count of SOLITICATION TO MURDER. He is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
