Glasgow Fire extinguishes car fire near sheriff’s office

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Fire Department responded to a car fire early Friday morning.

Officials were dispatched at 1:49 a.m. to 115 North Green Street for a burning vehicle that was parked near the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.

Glasgow Fire Department units extinguished the fire before it was able to spread to the sheriff’s office building, and no occupants were in or around the vehicle at the time.

Fire personnel were on scene for approximately 20 minutes and were assisted by the Glasgow Police Department.

The vehicle suffered significant fire damage, but no injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
