GLASGOW — Fire officials responded to a fire at the local landfill Sunday.
The fire was reported at 400 Glen Garry Rd. Fire officials noted light smoke and flames near the center of the landfill, according to a news release from the Glasgow Fire Department. Crews extinguished the flames.
Haywood, South Barren and East Barren Fire Departments assisted with the extinguishment. Crews were on scene for about 2 1/2 hours, according to the news release. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
